CD 220 - Child Care Center/Early Childhood Admin
Upon succesful completion of this course, the student shall be able to: A. Define the complex role of a director in planning, administering, staffing, and leading a qualified early childhood program. B. Explain state licensing standards and NAEYC accreditation. C. Demonstrate competence in budget planning and financial record keeping. D. Compare and contrast curriculum models as a basis for program philosophy. E. Identify effective management strategies to work with staffing, budget, and faculty. F. Develop strategies to work with staff to plan, organize, implement and evaluate children's programs. G. Create parent policy that supports families of diverse backgrounds.

Examines the management process of planning, staffing, record keeping, budgeting, purchasing, and monitoring for quality. Formulation of policy statements, philosophy, programming, planning, evaluation and working with parents will be included. Students will become familiar with computer usage, licensing standards, accreditation, community resources and professional organizations for early childhood programs.
