Upon successful completion of this course, the student shall be able to: A. Develop successful management styles for health care demands of the future. B. Apply principles of management. C. Analyze problems, provide solutions. D. Effectively manage information from a variety of sources. E. Apply team building skills. F. Manage new technology.
Prerequisite: Instructor consent. Create an understanding of management principles as they apply to various health information management settings. The student will see the health information manager job as that of a broker - including data capture, analysis, integration, and information disseminnation in the health information area. Each major management function is addressed: planning, organizing, leading, and controlling.
