CIP 183 - Intro to ASP.NET

The student will use Micrsoft's Visual Web Developer to create interactive Web applications with VB or C#. Topics include: Web forms, controls, site navigation, events and postback, validation, stylesheets, master pages, state management, testing and deployment. Students completing this course will have at least one fully functional ASP.NET Web application for their portfolio. 3 lecture hours; 0 lab hours per week.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student shall be able to: A. Compare client-side vs. server-side programming. B. Describe types of files that make up an ASP.NET application. C. Program interactive server-side ASP.NET applications. D. Use master pages and stylesheets for consistent layout of web application. E. Maintain state (data values) from one page to the next in a web application. F. Incorporate HTML and Web Server controls. G. Validate user input using validation controls. H. Write error handling, test, and deploy web application. I. Understand events and postback.
