SPAN 101 - Elementary Spanish I
SPAN 101 is the first course of a two-semester sequence in elementary Spanish with emphasis upon speaking, listening comprehension, reading, writing, and understanding culture.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student shall be able to: A. Maintain basic conversations, read and write about the present and future in the context of university life, family and friends, the outdoors, and the weather. B. Ask and answer questions. C. Talk about facts of time. D. Describe people, places, and things. E. Indicate the condition of people, places, and things. F. Indicate the location of people, places, and things. G. Express likes and dislikes. H. Demonstrate familiarity with the following topics related to the Hispanic world: gestures related to greetings, introductions and saying goodbye, university life, family, the workplace, and the outdoors. I. Compare and contrast how the previously mentioned topics are viewed in the Hispanic world and in the United States.
