PHIL 100 introduces the student to formal and informal logic and examines logical fallacies that are found in everyday arguments as well as the basics of symbolic logic.

Upon successful completion of this course, the student shall be able to: A. Express and use the general principles of argumentation, including those of definition. B. Express and use the general principles of informal and formal logic. C. Express and use inductive and deductive argumentation. D. Recognize and analyze informal fallacies found in ordinary language. E. Express the basics of symbolic logic.
