HUM 211 - Introduction to Humanities II
How we think about the world around us is not only represented in our arts and philosophies but is also shaped by them. By looking at the history of work and leisure as they are portrayed in artworks, literature, music, and philosophy, the student will: 1) be introduced to representative examples of the western arts and philosophies; 2) come to understand the impact of the arts and philosophy on culture; and 3) learn how to use the arts and philosophy to think about their own lives and their communities. Current examples of art and philosophy will also be presented to suggest ways in which work and leisure may be thought about in the future.
